A: Nope, I'm not Japanese. I'm still learning, only katakana and hiragana so far.
A: Isn't that obvious? Duh. Yeah, I love the Japanese art style, love their creations, anime, manga, some of their music culture as well. You don't need to ask that, aren't you? But I'm not the degenerate one. I love manga and anime for their revolutionary impact on the entertainment industry, so I just wanted to stay on that side.
A: Yes, I do use AI mostly as a translation tool, especially DeepL, Grammarly, and other AI-assisted tools. As you can see, English, Spanish, and Japanese are not my primary languages, and I do respect your opinion asking me to learn them. I'd actually eventually get there. But if you disagree with it, help me translate my stuff and please don't expect any payment. Not that I'm poor, even though I was. You can volunteer for free, and if we do make tons of money, yeah, that's when you should expect me to pay you.
Don't worry, I don't use AI generated content. I love drawing, I love making comics since I was 10, I love games since I was a kid. I do my own content without the help of AI. I'm self-taught, and if my work were made with AI, my own style (my drawing?! really?) and all, man, you should see a doctor. And yes, I hate people who use AI generated content for their own gain and steal people's work. For me, AI tools are really useful, you can learn things from it, it can do positive and negative stuff, but neither you nor I can stop the growth of it. If I can't even stop it, neither can you. Companies use it and y'all still support AI slop. Start by supporting me, I don't use it to generate art or ideas. My only limit is language, but is it wrong to use it that way? If it is, please read it from the beginning again, because I really need that help!
A: By surface? No. I learned basic programming with Python, C#, and others, and again, some of it I learned from school but most of it I'm self-taught. I do stick with Python because that's like the first programming language I learned in high school to make game projects, alone, not from school, before AI was even a thing, it didn't even exist back then. I'm hooked on it, along with some basic C# and many others.
Do I use AI? Yes. Do I just copy paste it? No. Do I ask it to help me find a bug? Yes! Why? Because the last time I asked a real person, a professional programmer replied with the most disrespectful and toxic response and insulted learner. Does AI do that? Nope, now you can see what my point is. That's my perspective toward AI. Still, it doesn't mean it's right to generate something blindly with AI without knowing how it works. So yeah, I do use it for big and small things, but I do have basic knowledge on it. This is a really modern and sensitive topic, and I respect you, but don't think I'm one of those people who make RAM expensive!
A: I use a Wacom pen tablet to draw my art. For the software part, mostly I'm using Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint for 3D object references, or just making the 3D objects myself using Maya software. For animation, I only use After Effects so far, and my style is always cut-out animation.
A: No, I’m not a narcissist. In fact, Mushisai isn’t even my real name.
The meaning behind Mushisai is that I’m on the side of the little people, the ones with a lot of potential but without power, money, or fame. People may see us as nothing more than bugs, but I believe everyone has talent. The problem is that the world isn’t always run by kind people.
That’s also why I use the name Mushisai on most of my work. It isn’t about putting my name everywhere. It’s also for copyright protection. I put the Mushisai name on works I create alone, while on most collaboration projects I don’t use it as much since the work belongs to more than just me.
I can’t afford to patent every IP or every piece of work I make. So, for me, using the Mushisai prefix was the answer.
A: I started drawing when I was 10, inspired by manga. I had many comic books back then, Naruto, One Piece, Le Petit Spirou by Tome and Janry (1987), the Batman series, but the most memorable one is The Doraemons (ザ☆ドラえもんズ Za Doraemonzu), a spin-off of Doraemon, serialized by Shogakukan and illustrated by Doumei Tanaka.
A: I love experimenting on useless stuff. It's my habit. I'm trying to bring back that good old 2000s internet feel, where every click means you discover something new and addicting, but still with a modern look. Today, not many websites do that, and everything feels so modern and each page is like, ehh, you know what you expect to see.
Since you read my homepage, I clearly said, discover my works! And I do experimenting on a lot of stuff. So yeah, there's a lot of weird links, weird widgets, and weird ways of directing you to another page. Some are experiments, some are just me showing off my unusual portfolio website.
Are they useful? Maybe. Are some of them completely unnecessary? Probably. That's the fun of it. Hope you enjoy them.
A: Yes, you can see my other accounts on my Link Hub pages. Most of the time I use my 3 main platforms and you can see it there. You can use my work for your fanart! Please, if you have a commission with my character consider sharing the revenue with me.
A: Well, I’m not Japanese, like I said. I do love their impact on the entertainment industry. As for art style, I just want to stick with what I can do. Maybe it’ll change in the future, but still, I grew up where I wasn’t exposed to just one style. I read Western comic books, Belgian comics like I mentioned above, Japanese manga, and many other modern works, from comic strips to webtoons.
I don’t like calling different art styles “bad art.” I don’t do that. I’m not you, and I’m not them. To me all arts have the same purpose: making people interested in and hooked on the work that’s been created. I’m not interested in numbers or weekly reader polls. If I like it, I like it... even if, in other people’s eyes, it’s considered a failure. To me, I think that’s the reason why I never stopped loving art.
A: Enough is never enough. I still have a lot of room to improve. I do have a 'special' condition that makes me a slow learner, perhaps because of my past trauma and environment, and also my limitations since I was born into a poor family. I didn't have money to buy drawing books back then, so I'm self-taught, no reference, just pure limited imagination, and I only got access to the things I needed way later than most people. That means the competition around me is tough, as if you are a worm that fell into a bird's den. But I won't stop until I do it.
Anyway, thank you for your time, cheers!
